Woman in Raw
Autobiographical, figurative
Sara Zimmerman’s “Woman in Raw” series reflects her story from 2008 to present of becoming a mom, balancing motherhood and sanity, postpartum depression, love for her daughter and family, life’s struggles, moving, etc. All art works are done in multiple layers, with many on large, un-stretched canvas, mimicking the layers and rawness of life. These pieces are hung like tapestries from copper pipes and clips. Many of these works are available as open edition prints. (Note: If you cannot see the gallery below, please wait for it to load).
