About Rob Zimmerman
Rob grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains on the California coast. A 10th-generation carpenter, he began working with wood at a very early age. Through woodworking and fine, custom finish carpentry work, he garnered an interest in wood carving, large live-edge slab milling, and rustic furniture. He has a deep, lifelong, connection with the earth, spirituality, and creating with his hands. Rob has been continually drawn to sacred geometry, spirituality, and the beautiful imperfect forms of the natural world, and these elements are a continual thread that connects his work. His techniques typically include wood carving, wood burning, painting, and carpentry.
In addition to his work as an artist, Rob is a songwriter and guitarist in his band Rob Zimmerman and The Last Levee, as well as a board-sport-enthusiast, father, husband, carpenter, photographer, rock climber, web-programmer and mountain-lover, among many other things.
