Derived from the energetic laws of the universe is an understanding that Energy In = Energy Out. Applied to business, you can think of clients as energy coming INTO your business. In turn, that makes marketing, advertising, networking and SEO as a vehicle for energy to move out.
The reason I am writing this is I have had clients mention their frustrations with how much time and energy blogging, newsletters and marketing efforts take. However, if you apply the same principle of energy from above to your business, then you realize that in order to gain more clients, you need to do some work (again, energy in = energy out).
Some people don’t make time to do the work so they ask for help with marketing and advertising. Some people don’t have much of a budget so they network and do as much as they can to execute the marketing efforts themselves. Some people want help AND want to put effort in (these same people tend to be the ones who are receiving the most new client inquiries).
Change of Perspective
Creating content for a blog and formatting a newsletter can be challenging, but it can also be rewarding. If you continue to look at your efforts with an “I hate it,” or “I have to” attitude, or think “I don’t want to, but I guess I should,” then that is the energy that clients may feel when they read what you wrote. They will see that you just did it because you “had to” and not because it was engaging for you.
Blogging, networking, creating newsletters, posting to social media, etc. all offer you a time to reflect AND educate your clients about what you are doing. Think of it as a wonderful opportunity to be able to spread the exact message you want to tell to people who have chosen to listen to you. Additionally, it can be a really fun experience for you to stop, review what you have done, and put it out into the world for others to see. It’s all about your perspective.
